6. Data Transfers to Third Countries

We do not intentionally transfer personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA. However, due to the nature of the Internet, data routing through non-secure countries may occur unintentionally. All communications are encrypted (TLS/HTTPS), so the risk remains low.

Email caution: Email data routing may pass through non-EU countries. For sensitive content, consider using postal mail or encrypted file transfer (e.g., ZIP with separate key via SMS).

9. Data Retention

Your personal data is stored only as long as necessary for the intended purpose. After that, the data is deleted unless retention is required (e.g., for tax audits). In such cases, data is restricted in use.

10. Profiling and Automated Decision-Making

We may use contact data from inquiries or orders to create non-automated profiles for improved customer support.

We do not engage in automated decision-making or automated profiling (as defined in Art. 22 GDPR). Email filters (e.g., spam detection) may use basic metadata.

14. Social Media

We maintain social media accounts to interact with users. Personal data may be processed outside the EEA. These platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram) use cookies, IP logging, and tracking for marketing and profiling.

We cannot influence the data processing by platform operators. Your interactions with our social media are voluntary, and you can find more information in the privacy policies of those platforms.

Some data transfers to the USA may occur under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (valid as of July 2023). Operators are certified but we have no control over future changes.

We recommend only visiting our social media pages if you already have an account with the respective service.

Instagram

Our contractual partner and (technical) operator of the Instagram services is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland, or its parent company, Meta Platforms, Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA – hereinafter referred to as “Meta”. We restrict access to our Instagram account in such a way that only users who are registered with the platform are granted access.

As a member of the social network “Instagram”, you can follow us on our account. In doing so, personal data will be processed by Meta, among other things, within the framework of the so-called “Insights” service, and made available to us in aggregated form (statistics). This processing may also take place outside the European Economic Area (EEA), in particular in the USA, which is beyond our control.

Together with Meta, we are considered “Joint Controllers” pursuant to Article 26 of the UK and EU GDPR, and we have concluded a “Page Insights Controller Addendum” with Meta. According to this agreement, Meta undertakes to fulfil all obligations under the GDPR with regard to the processing of Insights data (including Articles 12 and 13, as well as Articles 15 to 22 and 32 to 34 GDPR). Meta will also provide you with the essence of this agreement (the Page Insights Addendum).

We have no influence on the scope of the data processed by Meta, nor does Meta inform us – apart from the “Page Insights Data” – which specific personal data is processed and in what manner. As an Instagram member, you may have consented to the processing of your personal data by Meta and can influence the scope of processing through the settings in your Instagram user profile.

Although Meta refers to its certification under the Data Privacy Framework, you should be aware that the use of Instagram may involve various risks for you as a user. Meta’s privacy policy can be found at: https://privacycenter.instagram.com/policy.

There you will also find information on the scope of data collection (e.g., “device information”), as well as the address and other contact options, for example, for submitting data access requests.

Your data, device content and usage behaviour are extensively analysed by Meta. This includes the use of cookies, similar technologies, or the storage of IP addresses. The data is mainly used for advertising and market research purposes. Based on your user profile, you will receive personalised advertising within Instagram or on other sites that are capable of using Meta's technologies.

If you are a registered user, this information will be used across devices. The aggregated data provided to us by Meta through the “Page Insights” function, which cannot be linked to individuals, may be used by us – based on your consent – to optimise our advertising efforts on Instagram.

Your rights, particularly under Article 15 of the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, in relation to the use of our fan page

Meta has undertaken to fulfil all obligations under Articles 15 to 22 GDPR (right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling). You may therefore exercise your rights directly and (more quickly) with Meta. For further details about your rights, please refer to Meta’s privacy policy linked above. Should you choose to contact us directly, we will forward your request to Meta within seven days. Meta has committed to responding.

We do not use any of Meta’s tools for advertising measurement or control (“Instagram Insights”) on our website.

LinkedIn

Our contractual partner is LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland, a company of the LinkedIn Corporation, USA, which is part of Microsoft Corporation, USA.

We restrict access to our LinkedIn account to users who are registered with the platform.

As a member of the social network “LinkedIn”, you can follow us on our account there. Personal data is processed by the platform operator, including through the “Page Insights” service, and made available to us in aggregated form (statistics).

Together with LinkedIn, we are considered “Joint Controllers” in accordance with Article 26 GDPR and have concluded a “Page Insights Joint Controller Addendum” with LinkedIn. Under this agreement, LinkedIn is responsible for fulfilling all obligations under the GDPR in relation to the processing of Insights data (in particular, Articles 12 to 22 and 32 to 34 GDPR). Should you contact us to exercise your rights, we will forward your request to LinkedIn within three working days. LinkedIn has committed to responding.

We have no influence over the extent of the data processed by LinkedIn, nor does LinkedIn disclose to us – apart from what is included in the Page Insights Addendum – which specific personal data is processed and how. As a LinkedIn member, you may have consented to the processing of your personal data and can influence the scope of processing via the settings in your LinkedIn profile.

Although LinkedIn refers to its certification under the Data Privacy Framework, you should be aware that the use of the platform may involve certain risks for you as a user. LinkedIn’s privacy policy can be found at: https://de.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy. There you will also find further contact options, such as for data access requests or complaints. Please note that the transfer of personal data to the USA or other third countries is only permitted under strict conditions. According to LinkedIn (see: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/62533), the provision of its services involves the transfer of data to the USA. PW Hueber does not initiate such transfer and is not responsible for it. If you do not wish your data to be transferred in this way, please refrain from using our LinkedIn presence.

Your data, device content and usage behaviour are extensively analysed by LinkedIn. This includes the use of cookies, similar technologies or the storage of IP addresses. The data is mainly used for advertising and market research purposes. As a result, you may receive personalised advertising on LinkedIn or on other sites that utilise LinkedIn’s technologies.

As a registered user, this data is used across devices. The aggregated, non-personally identifiable data provided to us by LinkedIn through the “Page Insights” function may be used by us – based on your consent – to optimise our advertising on LinkedIn.

We do not use any of LinkedIn’s advertising control or measurement technologies (“LinkedIn Insights”) on our website.

15. Terms of Use

Please also refer to our Terms of Use.

16. Amendments to this Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy may be updated at irregular intervals to comply with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services, e.g., when introducing new features. The updated version will apply automatically on your next visit.
